Just checked into our cabin. Everything went perfect, but it turned out to be a nine hour drive...oh well I can rest the next 5 days. Spent a great day with Margaret and met her friend Lori and Dave. Lori is super and it will be a pleasure to take care of her cats, later this month. They took us to a nifty Cambodian restaurant. Then today I received an e- mail from her. I had off-handely remarked that I lost touch with an Army Buddy 50 Years ago and she located him or at least closely resembling him. I will try to call as I am only a couple hundred miles away from his home. Stay tuned!

Rennie, the granddog is a great traveller, but needs to stop every 2 hours. Once we arrived he immediately took charge of his new home and when a great big Doverman appeared from the neighbor's property he immediately charged him. Luckily this Doberman is only trained to "tree" bears and just ignored Rennie. I am really in a fantastic part of the country. I am surrounded by Redwood trees the way we are surrounded on GA by pine trees. Tomorrow we are scheduled to go toCrescent City and visit trees 1500-1800 years old. Can't wait.

For those who are keeping up with my dialysis. I am doing well. I have learned to calibrate my cycler at the encouragement of technical support. The delivery of the supplies went well. The Fresenius people are outstanding. I was able to leave almost half of my supplies at Lori's, yet I still weighed down the 4Runner with approximately 250 kg of stuff. That amounts to almost 600 pounds.

Early morning and recovering from the flight. We left late because of the rain, yet I did not mind because of the beneficial draught breaker contained in the rain. Arriving in SF all my baggage was in one piece, although the Feds had rummaged in it as they left a calling card. Wonder what they thought of the cycler? One suitcase was soaked.

Unfortunately, we arrived in the dark and I couldn't take note of the bay area nor the homestead I am staying at. Yet I was greeted by the hostess a Greek woman accompanied by one very friendly dog and three curious cats. The place sits on hill completely surrounded by a sort of mangroves, but with enough of a space overlooking the bay area. Quite a respit for me.

The dialysis part had its complications as I had to call technical support and they had to calibrate the machine. I guess transit impacts the delicate settings of the machine Once that was done the cycler behaved and performed its duty. It is good to know that short is just a call away. The night ended with a rooster announcing the new day. Margaret, my daughter was kind enough and assured that I will have the ingredients for my smoothie and also bought cereal.

By the way I forgot my I-Pad, consequently I will be short with my postings as all the typing is being done from my I-touch. One good thing is that I have to worry about one less piece of equipment.

Hope all is well at your places. Thank you for all your well wishes via e-mail as well as for your prayers. Cheers!

Ready to leave. Bags are heavy. Thanks Carol and Charlie for taking me to the airport. This is better than taking the shuttle. Love, me

Thought I would share my latest blooming lilies, called "hot stuff"
